KET Broadcasts of Arts Education Showcase

The 2009 Arts Education Showcases, filmed on March 11-12 in Somerset, will be broadcast to all Kentucky public schools in April on Kentucky Educational Television’s Teacher Channel. Four hours of performances and interviews were filmed, and these will be sent to schools in block feeds listed below. Please ask your librarian/media specialist to record these blocks. Broadcast times are subject to change. Please consult www.ket.org to confirm broadcast times.

If you are unable to view or record these broadcasts at a Kentucky public school, you may also view Showcase performances and interviews on the website in the artist pages, which you may find through the Artist Directory or the Artist Search buttons found on the homepage: www.artsedshowcase.org. The newly filmed artists will have their webpages and videos posted on April 1, 2009.

Please note that these performances are not intended for classroom use. The purpose of these performances is to help teachers and others to research and select arts education programming for their schools.

The Showcases will be shown in the following order by art form:

  • Drama (60 minutes)
  • Music (60 minutes)
  • Dance (20 minutes)
  • Multi Discipline Cultural Studies (10 minutes)
  • Interviews (80 minutes)

These times are estimated. A more detailed schedule will be posted closer to March 31.
